From dealing with the ongoing pandemic to anticipating the post-pandemic “new normal,” a question that’s top of mind for most employers is “what should we expect from the Biden Administration?” Almost two months into the new president’s term, the short answer is clear: “a lot of change.” Indeed, legal counsel and human resources professionals should anticipate significant and, in some cases, sweeping changes, spanning the gamut of labor and employment matters—from pay equity mandates to an increase in the minimum wage, to enhanced employee rights to unionize, as well as broader protections against workplace discrimination and unsafe working conditions. Much of this transformation in the labor and employment landscape will occur through a combination of new laws, greater regulatory rulemaking and heightened enforcement, and the issuance of executive orders by President Biden.

In this webinar, we’ll discuss wage and hour matters such as minimum wage, compensable working time, and contractor classification; labor-management relations matters such as the PRO Act and reversal of Trump-era mandates; EEO matters such as religious and LGBTQ+ discrimination, equal pay, and workplace accommodation; immigration-related issues such as Biden’s “pro-immigration agenda”; OSHA-related enforcement; and other matters such as restrictions on non-compete agreements and national paid family leave.
